The placemats are made of bamboo threads (split by hand) then sun-dried and boiled to treat the wood. The bamboo sticks are either in their natural wood or delicately dyed in colours (without overshadowing the natural wood grain). The bamboo sticks are singly inter-woven with cotton threads forming patterns over the time. Each combination of dyed bamboo sticks and colourful strings results in elegant and eye catching patterns for the placemats. The entirely process are handmade using traditional and meticulous methods. The placemats can be cleaned and wiped with a damp cloth after use
